1.Open sentences and closed sentences

Open sentence is a sentence that can not be determined right or wrong.
Example:
a + 8 = 12
x - 4 = 8
15: 3 = c

Closed sentence is a sentence that has been determined right or wrong.

Example:

20-5 = 15 (True)

4 x 5 = 25 (False)

Indonesia is the capital of Padang. (False)

GCF of 16 and 32 were 16 (Right)

2. One variable linear equations (PLSV)

One variable linear equations (PLSV) is a linear equation (rank one) which only contains one variable and associated with signs = ("* with the same")

Example:
P - 12 = 5
3x + 5 = 10
2k - 3 = k + 7

3. Resolving One variable linear equations.

There are several principles that need to know before completing one variable linear equations.

These principles are:
If a number or a variable switch from left field sign "=" to
the right of the sign "=" or vice versa then the numbers / variables such
changes sign (from + to - and - to +)
Example:
a. x + 5 = 17
c x = 17-5 (+5 to -5)
c x = 12

b. -X - 8 = 20
c-x = 20 + 8 (-8 to +8)
c-x = 28
